Top Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps in Ecuador Q4 2024

The fourth quarter of 2024 saw interesting trends in the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Ecuador, with data provided by Sensor Tower offering insights into the performance of the top five apps on a unified platform.

inDrive. Save on city rides showed a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 15.3K in early October and peaking at approximately 22.2K in the week of December 23. The app maintained a strong presence with weekly active users rising from 731K to over 1M by late December.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a gradual increase in weekly downloads, beginning at 8.7K and reaching close to 12.9K by the end of December. The app's active user base also grew, climbing from 581K to over 777K during the quarter.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides saw its weekly downloads increase from 3.5K to nearly 5.9K by the end of December. Active users showed a consistent upward trend, starting at 194K and ending at over 251K.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had fluctuating downloads, beginning at 7.1K and decreasing to just over 2K by the final week of December. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 46K throughout the quarter.

DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash witnessed a decline in downloads, starting at 1.5K and dipping before slightly recovering to 1.3K by year-end. Active users, however, showed resilience, ending the quarter at 26.2K, up from 24.9K.
